Pharmacy Manager – Hospital Pharmacy

About the role

The Pharmacy Manager will lead the hospital pharmacy in Kaunas, overseeing daily medication dispensing for both inpatient and outpatient services. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures safe, accurate, and timely prescription processing while supporting the hospital’s teaching and research mission.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise pharmacy staff, schedule shifts and develop performance.
• Coordinate workflows for dispensing, verification and distribution of medications.
• Maintain compliance with Lithuanian and EU pharmaceutical regulations, hospital policies and safety standards.
• Manage inventory, procurement, storage and controlled‑substance handling.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other clinicians to promote safe medication use.
• Participate in immunisation programmes, including vaccine storage and administration.
• Monitor performance indicators, implement process improvements and support training activities.

Required profile

• University degree in Pharmacy and a valid pharmacist licence in Lithuania.
• Proven experience in a senior or managerial pharmacist role within a hospital or large clinical institution.
• Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, medication review and prescription verification.
• Familiarity with immunisation services and vaccine handling protocols.
• Understanding of national and EU pharmaceutical legislation and quality‑assurance procedures.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
