Product Engineer

About the role

IKEA is seeking a Product Engineer to join its Wood Category Area. You will work in a truly international environment, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to develop and improve home‑furnishing products. The role involves travel to manufacturing sites, exposure to diverse technologies, and the opportunity to influence sustainable product development.

Key responsibilities

• Visit and evaluate manufacturing partners worldwide to assess capabilities and technologies.
• Lead product development and improvement projects, ensuring alignment with IKEA’s design principles.
• Maintain continuous dialogue with cross‑functional stakeholders, including design, supply, and production teams.
• Act as an ambassador of IKEA values, fostering long‑term supplier relationships.
• Support the implementation of affordable sustainability initiatives across the value chain.

Required profile

• Solid foundation in manufacturing and product development methodologies.
