Remote Data Specialist

About the role

IMPACT BRANDS is seeking a Remote Data Specialist to design, build, and maintain data models and pipelines that power its health‑and‑wellness products. You will work with BigQuery, dbt, and Looker Studio to ensure accurate, reliable data for marketing, finance, and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain warehouse models in BigQuery using Dataform and dbt, handling version control and releases.
• Ensure marketing and sales data pipelines ingest new ad accounts and products correctly from day one.
• Own product‑brand mapping, correcting mismatches at the source rather than in reports.
• Build and monitor data quality checks and alerts to catch missing or broken data early.
• Create and maintain Looker Studio dashboards, data sources, and calculated fields.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Science or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to trace numbers back to their source across multiple layers.
• Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to explain findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience investigating data discrepancies and reconciling metrics such as active subscriptions and churn.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL (joins, window functions, troubleshooting).
• Experience with cloud data warehouses, preferably Google BigQuery.
• Hands‑on knowledge of dbt and Dataform with Git‑based workflows.
• Understanding of dimensional data modeling and reusable metric definitions.
• Proficiency in BI tools such as Looker Studio or Power BI.
• Familiarity with data quality checks and alerting mechanisms.
