Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Plastics)

About the role

Teltonika is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specialized in plastics to join its mechanical design team in Lithuania. You will contribute to the development of cutting‑edge networking equipment used in Industry 4.0, Smart City and Green Energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design plastic components, create 3D models and generate 2D technical drawings.
• Develop, implement and maintain plastic component design guidelines for the Mechanical Engineering team.
• Provide technical guidance on plastic design and injection‑molding topics to fellow engineers.
• Collaborate with suppliers to review and align injection‑mold designs.
• Support Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Quality teams on technical issues and product quality.
• Analyze existing plastic products to identify design, manufacturing and cost optimisation opportunities.
• Propose and implement improvements to plastic parts and their manufacturing processes.

Required profile

• Higher education in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in plastic component or injection‑mold design.
• Strong knowledge of plastic component design principles and injection‑mold technologies.
• Good understanding of how mold design and process parameters affect product quality and cost.
• Technical English proficiency for documentation and supplier communication.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (or comparable CAD system).
• Moldflow or other injection‑molding simulation software.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and its practical application.
• Plastic component design and injection‑mold design expertise.
• Technical English for engineering documentation.
