Structural Engineer

About the role

Dextall is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its Research and Development engineering team focused on high‑performance façade systems. You will work on designing and verifying structural solutions for commercial building exteriors across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Gather project loads and apply relevant design codes and specifications.
• Perform structural calculations for façade panels, brackets, anchors, and connections.
• Verify compliance of solutions with design codes and project specifications.
• Assist third‑party submissions, ensuring data accuracy and reviewing reports.
• Develop reusable analysis libraries, templates, and rules for task optimization.
• Provide structural input during early design phases to avoid late‑stage rework.
• Collaborate with Concept Engineers on complex configurations and participate in buildability reviews.
• Contribute to R&D feasibility studies and advise on structural constraints.
• Lead internal sessions on design standards, codes, materials, and software tips.
• Produce clear, traceable calculation reports and report structural risks to Design Managers.
• Ensure all documentation meets internal and third‑party standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).

Required skills

• FEM software (RISA, Dlubal, Nastran, or equivalent).
• Strong Excel and Word skills for structural calculation documentation.
• Understanding of thin‑gauge section analysis, nonlinear material behavior, and composite sections.
• Familiarity with Americas standards and building codes.
• Ability to work with both metric and imperial units.
