About the role

The position leads the Operations Supervision Department of a national development bank, ensuring the effectiveness, compliance and risk‑based planning of incentive financing activities and fraud prevention.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare functional policies, implementation procedures and related reports.
• Ensure compliance of incentive financing activities, supervise fraud‑prevention measures and monitor effectiveness.
• Define and implement internal control mechanisms to prevent errors and abuse.
• Investigate violations, non‑conformities and related reports, propose corrective actions and oversee their implementation.
• Plan department activities based on risk, allocating resources where loss probability and reputational impact are highest.
• Collaborate with national and EU institutions to guarantee responsible use of state, municipal, EU and borrowed funds.
• Coordinate external audits and inspections, monitor recommendation implementation and report outcomes to management.
• Organise and develop the department’s team.

Required profile

• Higher education in finance, economics, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of leadership experience.
• Experience in internal audit or independent oversight/control within a financial institution (preferred).
• Familiarity with state and EU budget administration and control requirements (preferred).
• Proven experience in implementing organisational changes.
• Impeccable professional reputation.
• Proactive, collaborative, able to argue viewpoints and work well in a team.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
