Full Stack Engineer – Java & React/TypeScript

About the role

As a Full Stack Engineer reporting to the Senior Director of Software Engineering, you will build Java services and React/TypeScript applications for a new R&D team focused on responsible AI in global financial markets. You will own end‑to‑end deliverables, leverage AI‑assisted tooling, and collaborate in a feedback‑rich, learning‑oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring, and create user‑facing applications with React and TypeScript.
• Implement secure integrations via REST and modern agent‑to‑agent protocols, ensuring quality through unit tests, manual validation, and test automation.
• Participate in requirements analysis and architecture discussions, influencing decisions that affect team delivery.
• Work with DevOps to automate deployments, observability, and portfolio security across environments.
• Apply Nasdaq’s GenAI Platform and AI‑assisted tools to optimise the development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Several years of full‑stack software engineering experience with production‑grade Java, object‑oriented design, design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Strong experience building component‑based web applications with React and TypeScript.
• Solid SQL expertise including CRUD operations, schema design, and data‑structures/algorithms knowledge.
• Proficiency with Git workflows, Linux command‑line, and containerisation using Docker or Podman.
