Entry-Level C/C++ Software Engineer – Vilnius

About the role

We are looking for an entry‑level Software Engineer with solid C/C++ experience to join Rocket Software’s Vilnius development centre. You will work on the Universe and Unidata multivalue database products, collaborating in an agile Scrum team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features, enhancements and bug‑fixes for the Universe and Unidata platforms using C/C++.
• Create and execute test cases, review test results and ensure product quality.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies – refinement, sprint planning, daily stand‑up, retrospectives and demos.
• Leverage AI tools to clarify requirements, estimate effort and implement functionality.
• Contribute to DevOps, quality practices and continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on C/C++ development experience.
• Basic understanding of database concepts.
• Strong analytical, debugging and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• C and C++ programming.
• Operating‑system concepts: memory management, process/thread management, file I/O, POSIX APIs.
• Networking fundamentals and basic security principles.
• Common data structures (queues, linked lists, hash tables, trees).
• Standard algorithms (searching, sorting, hashing).
• Debugging tools such as gdb and Valgrind.
