Senior Data Engineer - Microsoft Fabric

About the role

The Ignitis Group shared service centre, part of the renewables-focused integrated utility Ignitis Group, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering Team. You will help build data solutions on a cloud-based Microsoft Fabric data platform, supporting sales, financial, technical, people, smart metering and other energy data solutions. The role is full-time and based in Vilnius.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate reliable, scalable data pipelines using Python, Airflow and Microsoft Fabric.
• Integrate data from 50+ sources (on-premises, cloud, APIs) into a unified data platform.
• Design and evolve lakehouse/warehouse patterns, data models and transformation layers.
• Own data quality, observability, security and compliance-by-design across pipelines and storage.
• Lead technical solution design end-to-end, from requirements to production rollout.
• Ensure data quality, security and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Experience leading and implementing data governance frameworks and data cataloging tools.
• Comfortable mentoring and growing more junior team members.

Required skills

• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Data modelling, ETL/ELT and warehouse/lakehouse concepts.
• Building data pipelines with orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Advantageous: Microsoft Fabric or Azure, and dbt.
