Technical Researcher / Writer

About the role

SearchApi is looking for a Technical Researcher / Writer who creates deep, reproducible comparisons and benchmarks of APIs and AI tools. You will combine coding, data analysis, and clear writing to produce evergreen content that engineers trust.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, and run benchmark tests for APIs, no‑code platforms and AI workflows, then publish the methodology alongside results.
• Maintain long‑term estimations, re‑measure over time, and update content to keep it accurate.
• Test and review tools such as n8n, OpenClaw, Hermes, MCP, and other agent frameworks, producing honest write‑ups.
• Improve SearchApi documentation and product by surfacing rough edges discovered during research.
• Turn rigorous research into SEO‑friendly content that ranks and converts.

Required profile

• Technical writer who can stand up a benchmark and explain it clearly.
• Intellectually honest – you follow the data even when it’s inconvenient.
• Comfortable working directly with APIs, reading docs, and wiring up tests without hand‑holding.
• Curious about the AI tooling space and eager to try new technologies.
• Self‑directed and able to set your own research agenda.
• Native or near‑native English; writing is the core of the job.

Required skills

• API benchmarking and testing.
• Scripting and simple data analysis (spreadsheets, charts).
• Experience with no‑code platforms such as n8n, OpenClaw, Hermes, MCP.
• Familiarity with AI workflow and agent frameworks.
