Assistant Operations Controller

About the role

Metso is looking for an Assistant Operations Controller to join its Controlling Team in Vilnius. You will support the financial management of inventory, work‑in‑process and plant operations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Control inventory master data and perform periodic inventory valuation.
• Manage inventory scrapping from a financial perspective.
• Maintain and calculate burden rates and inventory obsolescence provisions.
• Monitor work‑in‑process calculations and order settlement processes.
• Participate in period‑end closing, prepare data analyses, and validate accounting cases.
• Conduct P&L and balance‑sheet analysis and prepare project reporting packages.
• Develop financial projections (budget, forecast) and support plant managers and controllers.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement opportunities in quality and control.
• Contribute to projects and new tool development within operations controlling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of relevant experience in controlling or finance.
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and responsibility.
• Advanced written and spoken English.
• Ability to work in a cross‑cultural, collaborative environment.
• Flexibility and a customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• SAP (experience with other accounting software and databases is a plus).
