Backend Software Engineer (Node.js) – AI Builder

About the role

Join Hostinger’s AI Builder team to create the backend engine that powers an AI‑first platform for building websites, stores, and web apps. You will own features from concept to production, shaping both what we build and how we build it.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend systems and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Own services end‑to‑end, making architectural decisions with guidance from senior engineers.
• Optimize performance, scale databases, and ensure system reliability.
• Integrate third‑party APIs, implement data storage solutions, and contribute to features that users love.
• Write well‑tested, documented, and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver impactful releases.

Required profile

• 2+ years of production experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Proven ability to design and ship REST APIs.
• Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, BullMQ, GCP PubSub).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and observability tools (Grafana or similar).
• Strong testing mindset using Jest, Mocha, or comparable frameworks.
• Comfortable with SQL, an ORM (Sequelize, TypeORM, Prisma), and Redis.
• Proficient with Git and comfortable working in collaborative teams.
• Self‑starter attitude with a focus on ownership and continuous learning.
