Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Data Engineer with strong SQL skills to build and support reliable data products across OAG. You will join a back‑end engineering team, quickly learn a complex aviation‑data domain and turn detailed business rules into dependable data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain clear, accurate SQL in stored procedures, functions and views, including transformations of semi‑structured JSON.
• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines, transformations and data models in Snowflake.
• Create automated data quality checks, monitor tasks and investigate data issues.
• Improve query performance and resource usage, applying aviation‑data concepts and business rules.
• Follow security, testing and deployment practices, contribute to releases and keep documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Strong practical SQL skills, including joins, aggregation, CTEs, window functions and query troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on experience building and supporting production data solutions.
• Understanding of data pipelines, transformations, data quality and ELT patterns.
• Ability to investigate query performance and improve reliability and resource use.
• Practical understanding of access control, data security and handling sensitive data.
• Experience with version control, code review and automated testing.
• Ability to learn a complex business domain quickly and communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical colleagues.
