Head of Direct Marketing

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Head of Direct Marketing to lead our retention strategy and drive growth across the e‑commerce business. You will own the direct marketing roadmap, manage a multi‑channel team, and ensure data‑driven results.

Key responsibilities

• Own the direct marketing / retention strategy across the customer base, aligned with overall marketing and business goals.
• Lead and develop a team responsible for email, push notifications, SMS, and related automations.
• Design, build, and continuously optimize lifecycle and automation flows (welcome, post‑purchase, win‑back, abandoned cart, loyalty, etc.) at a company‑group level.
• Manage and evolve the CRM platform, including segmentation, personalization, and data hygiene.
• Define and track key retention KPIs (repeat purchase rate, CLV, churn, engagement, revenue per channel) and report results to leadership.
• Test and roll out new tactics, channels, and technologies to improve retention performance.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR across all direct marketing activities.
• Set best practices and processes that can scale across multiple markets/brands within the group.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in direct marketing, CRM, or retention marketing, including team leadership.
• Proven track record managing email, push, and SMS channels and marketing automation platforms.
• Strong analytical skills and comfortable working with retention KPIs and campaign performance data.
• Experience working across multiple markets or business units is a plus.
• Fluent English; e‑commerce or retail background preferred.
