Java Software Engineer - Payment Integration

About the role

Wallee Group is expanding its engineering team in Vilnius to deliver world‑class payment solutions. As a Java Software Engineer you will help build secure, high‑reliability systems that power global fintech experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop resilient back‑end services using Java, ensuring scalability for global traffic.
• Own the full lifecycle of new features, from implementation through testing, bug fixing and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers and QA to translate business requirements into clean technical solutions.
• Maintain code quality through automated testing, thorough code reviews and clear documentation.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to keep Wallee at the cutting edge of fintech.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot or Hibernate.
• Experience building distributed, high‑availability systems.
• Proficiency in writing solid SQL queries and data modeling.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitLab CI) and containerisation (Docker, AWS ECS).
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and a proven ability to thrive in fast‑paced Agile environments.
