Java Software Engineer – Procurement Solutions

About the role
Swedbank Procurement IT is seeking a Java Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain intelligent, scalable solutions for group functions procurement. You will work in a data‑driven, fast‑evolving environment, collaborating with architects and product owners across the Baltic region.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Procurement IT applications and integration solutions using Java and modern integration technologies.
- Design, develop and support REST APIs, event‑driven architectures, message brokers and enterprise integration platforms.
- Collaborate with architects and teams on solution design, architecture and implementation decisions.
- Support business stakeholders and Product Owners in balancing new feature development with lifecycle management, maintenance and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis to deployment and support.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise integrations and application performance across multiple environments.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience with Java.
- Strong knowledge of Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud and build tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs and system integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern data technologies, especially Azure, Azure Data Lake and Databricks.
- Analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills with fluency in English.
- Previous experience working with international teams.
