Lawyer – Payment Services (Temporary, 2 years)

About the role

SEB Bank’s Legal Department is seeking an experienced lawyer on a temporary two‑year contract to support payment services, digital channels and daily banking matters in Vilnius. The role involves advising internal stakeholders, monitoring regulatory developments and preparing legal documentation for cash‑management and procurement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Advise internal stakeholders on legal requirements for payment services, digital channels, cash‑management and related customer processes.
• Handle customer requests and complaints concerning accounts, payments and digital channels.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting payment services and cash‑management, assess impact and support timely implementation.
• Prepare, review and maintain standard customer agreements, terms and conditions and other legal documentation.
• Support negotiations on non‑standard customer agreements and procurement contracts with third‑party providers.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Business, Product and Technology teams to ensure consistent, business‑oriented legal advice.
• Represent SEB with external stakeholders such as regulatory authorities and the Lithuanian Banking Association.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in a financial institution, law firm, supervisory authority or other regulated environment.
• Professional working proficiency in Lithuanian and English.
• Ability to translate legal requirements into practical, business‑oriented advice.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and independent work capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
