Lawyer – Transport & Logistics (Kaunas)

About the role

The Legal Department of Girteka Transport is looking for a dedicated Lawyer to support its operations in Lithuania and across the EU. You will work on transport‑related legal matters, ensuring compliance, managing risks and providing expert advice to internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse relevant legal acts, summarise findings and present them to various departments.
• Conduct trainings, presentations and provide legal consulting to staff.
• Manage and coordinate cases involving illegal migrants and oversee company accreditations.
• Handle IMI (Internal Market Information System) requests and participate in customer audits.
• Identify, assess and manage legal risks and compliance issues.
• Prepare and evaluate activity‑related documents, take part in negotiations and represent the company’s position.
• Drive process improvements to meet business needs and assume responsibility for assigned legal matters in all jurisdictions where Girteka operates.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional experience in a law firm or as an in‑house counsel.
• University degree in law.
• Fluent in English and Lithuanian (written and spoken); Russian is a plus.
• Business‑oriented, result‑driven and proactive with a practical problem‑solving approach.
• Strong analytical, argumentation and negotiation abilities.
• Motivation for continuous learning and taking on new responsibilities.
• Experience in migration law, foreign nationals’ legal status and employment law in Lithuania or abroad.
• Familiarity with international transport, logistics, compliance or legal risk management.
