Project Manager – Utility Battery Energy Storage Systems

About the role

Trina Solar is seeking a Project Manager to lead utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Europe. The role will be based within the EU Utility Storage Project Management Team, supporting projects in Lithuania, Poland or Romania.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project and commissioning works for energy storage projects, coordinating internal teams, suppliers and contractors.
• Develop and execute commissioning plans and testing protocols aligned with market rules, DNO requirements and contractual obligations.
• Negotiate contracts with customers regarding project delivery clauses.
• Lead projects to commercial operation and handover to the O&M team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and health & safety regulations, including CDM.
• Produce progress reports and maintain the project risk matrix.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience managing project and commissioning work of electrical equipment in Solar PV and/or BESS projects.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations (CDM) and electrical standards.
• Ability to supervise site activities across multiple contractors.
• Fluent in English and Lithuanian; additional languages a plus.
• Willingness to travel to support existing and new energy storage sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience with SCADA systems.
• Familiarity with MODBUS communication protocol.
• CSCS card holder or equivalent.
