Senior Data Platform Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Data Platform Security Engineer to design, build and operate secure data platforms across cloud and on‑premise environments. You will combine security architecture with practical implementation, working closely with data engineers, platform teams and cloud specialists to embed security by design.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls for AWS, SaaS and on‑premise data platforms.
• Work directly with AWS services such as IAM, KMS, S3 and logging to enforce protection.
• Develop and automate data‑protection mechanisms including encryption, masking and fine‑grained access control.
• Build security guardrails and baseline configurations using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK).
• Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines (IaC scanning, secrets detection, policy‑as‑code).
• Perform threat modelling, security reviews and support audits and vulnerability remediation.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, network, cloud and risk teams to promote secure‑by‑default practices.
• Continuously improve logging, monitoring and detection capabilities.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on security engineering experience with an architectural mindset.
• Practical expertise in AWS security (IAM, KMS, logging, networking).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CDK.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to script in Python, Bash or similar languages.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
