Senior DevOps & Cloud Engineer

About the role

Centric IT Solutions is expanding its Data Platform Engineering team and seeks a Senior DevOps and Cloud Engineer to design, build and operate a secure, resilient data platform for Dutch municipalities. You will work across Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, ensuring compliance with European data‑sovereignty and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, implement and maintain a scalable data platform covering ingestion, transformation, storage and serving layers.
• Develop automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform and related tools.
• Build and operate cloud‑native, containerised environments with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Own the full lifecycle of platform components – build, release, deployment, monitoring and retirement.
• Create observability solutions with Prometheus and Grafana, including metrics, dashboards, logging integrations and alerting.
• Ensure platform security, governance, scalability and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers, data engineers, product owners and architects, mentoring junior staff and promoting best practices.

Required profile

• Strong experience building and operating cloud platforms in Azure, OCI or similar environments.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform or comparable) and automation.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker and container orchestration.
• Good understanding of cloud networking, storage, compute and IAM.
• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases and scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Familiarity with observability concepts and tools.
• Experience with DevOps culture, CI/CD tooling and security best practices.
