Senior Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Unity’s Embedded OS Platforms team is looking for a senior software engineer to bring Unity’s real‑time 3D runtime to embedded platforms such as Embedded Linux, QNX and Android Automotive OS. You will develop new features, integrate with automotive HMI markets and work directly with OEM customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and integrate Unity’s runtime on embedded platforms, building graphics and windowing layers for multi‑screen, multi‑touch digital cockpits.
• Profile and optimise performance, memory, startup and iteration speed on resource‑constrained SoCs.
• Partner with automotive OEMs as a technical point of contact to investigate issues and remove bottlenecks.
• Raise the engineering bar through design discussions, code reviews and automated testing.

Required profile

• Proficiency in C, C++ and C# within a large multithreaded codebase.
• Experience developing for Embedded Linux, QNX and hyper‑visor environments.
• Graphics engineering experience with Vulkan and OpenGL ES for real‑time 3D and UI rendering.
• Strong performance‑optimisation skills using CPU/GPU/IO profiling tools.
• Ability to work directly with customers in English, guiding them to production success.
