Senior Legal Counsel – Data Protection

About the role

Fondia is looking for a proactive Senior Legal Counsel specialized in Data Protection to join its team in Vilnius. The role combines senior‑level legal advisory with the opportunity to shape and expand Fondia’s Data Protection practice in Lithuania, supporting a wide range of corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage client assignments, providing business‑oriented legal advice across various business law matters.
• Advise clients on data‑protection issues, deliver practical compliance guidance, risk management, and documentation support.
• Act as Data Protection Officer for clients and answer day‑to‑day privacy‑related legal questions.
• Lead the development of Fondia’s Data Protection practice in Lithuania, strengthening service offerings and building internal expertise.
• Identify legal risks, propose practical solutions, and contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring within the legal team.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in legal advisory, preferably in a law firm, in‑house legal department, or other client‑facing legal role.
• Strong expertise in Data Protection and privacy law.

Required skills

• Legal advisory and consultancy on Data Protection matters.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documentation.
• Risk assessment and mitigation in privacy compliance.
• Ability to act as Data Protection Officer for clients.
