Senior React Native Engineer – Consumer Mobile

About the role

The Consumer Mobile team at Kraken (backed by Payward) builds the flagship Kraken app used by millions to manage their crypto and financial assets. As a senior engineer you will work closely with product and design to turn ambiguous client problems into intuitive, fast, and trustworthy mobile experiences using React Native.

Key responsibilities

• Own features end‑to‑end, from discovery and technical design through implementation, launch, measurement and iteration.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers early in the development process to shape solutions and challenge assumptions.
• Build high‑quality, data‑rich experiences that handle real‑time market data, ensuring responsiveness, reliability and trust.
• Make architectural decisions around state management, rendering performance and mobile codebase structure.
• Raise the engineering bar through code reviews, technical discussions and strong product ownership.

Required profile

• Strong React Native experience with production‑shipped applications and the ability to make architectural decisions.
• Product‑building mindset: focus on client problems, challenge vague requirements and drive measurable impact.
• Proven end‑to‑end ownership of features, from discovery to iteration using metrics and client feedback.
• Comfort working with APIs and dynamic or real‑time data streams.
• Close collaboration skills with product and design teams across a globally distributed environment.
• Versatility with AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development while retaining quality.
