Senior Software Engineer

About the role

The Senior Software Engineer will investigate how similar features are implemented across various platforms and use that knowledge to design unified, testable APIs. This role requires deep collaboration with teammates and building relationships with technical teams throughout Unity.

Key responsibilities

• Craft unified APIs that implement features of multiple target platforms.
• Contribute API implementations and unit tests to the Unity codebase.
• Advocate for unifying disparate platform implementations into simple abstractions.
• Deliver a stable, high‑quality product using robust C# and C++ coding practices.
• Refactor existing code for efficiency, maintainability, and user feedback.

Required profile

• Experience in C# development, Unity‑based games, and extending the Unity editor.
• Proven ability to abstract requirements of different platforms into a cohesive API surface.
• Knowledge of native development on at least one desktop, mobile, or console platform.
• Experience contributing to cross‑team projects from initiation to completion.
