Senior SRE Engineer

About the role

Architus partners with a leading UK energy company to build a significant presence in Lithuania. The company is expanding and offers many opportunities for professional development. Site Reliability Engineering builds and maintains scalable, efficient and reliable platforms for the company's applications and services, improving reliability, performance and cost-efficiency of systems running on GCP.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and automate monitoring, alerting and observability solutions with tools such as Datadog, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs, improve incident response and support on-call operations.
• Lead or support production incident resolution, run blameless post-mortems and drive continuous reliability improvements.
• Optimise cloud infrastructure costs while keeping performance, scalability and reliability.
• Support capacity planning, performance tuning and resilience through monitoring and load testing insights.
• Work with engineering, QA, security and product teams to embed SRE best practices, and take part in system design reviews focused on reliability and scalability.
• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues and contribute to the SRE Community of Practice.

Required profile

• Professional software engineering experience with Python, TypeScript, Go, Java or similar, applying CI/CD, testing and code review best practices.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and cloud-native infrastructure, networking, storage and distributed systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across Linux, networking and distributed systems.
• Data-driven approach using metrics, logs, SLIs/SLOs and error budgets; experience with capacity planning, performance tuning and cloud cost optimisation.
• Passion for mentoring others and promoting SRE best practices.

Required skills

• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi or Crossplane.
• Monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus and Grafana.
