Backend Software Engineer – Node.js & AI Builder

About the role

Join Hostinger’s AI Builder team to design and develop the backend engine that powers an AI‑first platform for creating websites, online stores, and web apps. You will own features from concept to production, working in a fast‑moving environment with high autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable Node.js services and APIs that drive the AI Builder platform.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of backend features, making architectural decisions with guidance from senior engineers.
• Optimize API performance, database queries, and system scalability.
• Integrate third‑party APIs, implement data storage solutions, and contribute to feature development that directly impacts users.
• Write well‑tested, documented code and collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other engineers.
• Participate in mentorship and continuous learning to grow from a mid‑level to senior engineer.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience building backend services with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL in production environments.
• Proven ability to design and ship reliable REST APIs.
• Familiarity with message queues such as RabbitMQ, BullMQ, or GCP PubSub.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Comfortable using observability tools (e.g., Grafana) and version control (Git).
