Senior Platform Engineer (DevOps) for Cloud Automation

About the role

The Developer Experience tribe at Danske Bank is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer (DevOps) to join the Cloud Automation squad. You will help shape and evolve an internal multi‑cloud provisioning platform built on a GitOps model, delivering APIs, controllers and automation that power daily operations for engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement APIs, controllers and orchestration logic for provisioning and operational tasks.
• Develop and extend the platform's Terraform provider and supporting services.
• Build and maintain GitOps delivery pipelines with ArgoCD across Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
• Create and enhance platform interfaces such as Backstage, CLI tools and MCP servers.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and operational teams to gather requirements and deliver automation solutions.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development to quickly adopt new languages or technologies as needed.
• Review code and contribute to engineering decisions to ensure maintainable, high‑quality solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer or Software Engineer building production‑grade software and infrastructure automation.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, clean code practices and design‑pattern awareness.
• Ability to work across multiple languages and tools, adapting quickly to new challenges.
