Accountant – Lithuanian Entity

About the role

Montonio is expanding its in‑house finance function and is looking for an Accountant to own the core accounting operations for its Lithuanian entity. You will work hands‑on, driving month‑end processes, payroll, and compliance while collaborating closely with a senior accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and complete the monthly close cycle.
• Run monthly payroll for the Lithuanian entity.
• Oversee payments, settlements and daily transaction processing.
• Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly financial, tax and statistical reports to Lithuanian authorities.
• Handle accounting‑related queries from customer support and merchants.
• Collaborate on annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Design and implement new accounting processes as the business scales.
• Manage daily administrative tasks, including personnel‑related matters.

Required profile

• Experience as an in‑house accountant or at an accounting firm, preferably in the financial sector.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Lithuanian.
• Feedback‑oriented with a proactive, curious mindset.
• Strong analytical abilities and interest in automation and AI tools.
• Ownership mentality and ability to prioritize under tight month‑end deadlines.
