General Counsel – Global Legal Lead

About the role

Puffy, a top‑5 US D2C mattress brand with over $1 billion in sales, is seeking a General Counsel to lead its in‑house legal function across consumer compliance, family‑office fund documentation, and multi‑jurisdictional asset structuring. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will embed legal risk management into the core operating rhythm of a fast‑growing, AI‑first organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run a Monthly Legal Exposure Audit and Quarterly Compliance Sweeps covering checkout flows, terms of service, arbitration clauses, pricing and FTC endorsement guidelines.
• Negotiate hedge‑fund subscription agreements, side letters and LP terms, and conduct Quarterly Fund Documentation Reviews.
• Implement investment security controls such as authorized account whitelists, multi‑party verification and transfer protocols.
• Structure asset‑protection mechanisms across multiple international jurisdictions.
• Identify and surface at least five material legal risks within the first 90 days without prior assignment.

Required profile

• Qualified attorney with extensive experience in consumer‑facing compliance, fund documentation and cross‑border structuring.
• Proven ability to operate autonomously and influence senior leadership directly.
• Track record of building legal processes that scale with rapid growth.
• Willingness to work in a remote‑first environment with occasional presence in Dubai.

Required skills

• Experience with AI‑driven legal analysis tools or similar technology platforms.
