German-Speaking Financial Accountant (AP/AR)

About the role

HR factory is looking for a German-speaking financial accountant in Kaunas to handle the operational accounting of a German legal entity. The role covers accounts payable and accounts receivable and supports the Finance Business Partner in monthly, quarterly and annual closing under HGB.

Key responsibilities

• Accounts payable: review incoming invoices, post them and handle accruals and deferrals, clarify differences with Purchasing, archive documents in DocuWare, maintain vendor master data, run payments, reconcile accounts including intercompany, and follow up on payment reminders.
• Accounts receivable: monitor and maintain customer accounts, post bank statements, track and report the factoring process, follow up on overdue payments and run dunning, act as the contact for customers on accounting matters, and prepare and run direct debit collection payments.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual closings under HGB, manage petty cash, handle incoming and outgoing mail, and support the Finance Business Partner with ad-hoc analyses.
• Prepare VAT advance returns and recapitulative statements (ZM), support monthly and annual financial statements, and post travel expense reports and credit card statements.

Required profile

• Completed commercial or business administration vocational training with relevant accounting qualifications.
• Relevant experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable; factoring experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of German VAT rules, including input VAT, mandatory invoice components, standard VAT, intra-Community acquisitions and reverse charge.
• Very good German and English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Very good Microsoft Office skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (Navision).
