Legal Counsel – Fintech & EMI Specialist

About the role

Nayax Europe UAB, part of the global fintech group Nayax, is looking for a Legal Counsel to support its Bank of Lithuania‑licensed electronic money institution and its subsidiaries across Europe. The role combines regulatory advice, contract management and data‑protection responsibilities in a fast‑growing payments environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to business units and departments throughout Nayax Europe and the wider Nayax Group.
• Advise on regulatory matters relevant to a licensed EMI, including PSD2/EMD2, EBA and Bank of Lithuania guidelines.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage commercial agreements with payment partners, service providers and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and Lithuanian data‑protection law, conduct DPIAs, negotiate DPAs and handle data‑subject requests.
• Support procurement processes with legal guidance and regulatory compliance.
• Lead cross‑functional legal projects and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Handle corporate governance matters for European entities and liaise with the Bank of Lithuania and external counsel.
• Collaborate with global legal, compliance, data‑protection and AML teams.

Required profile

• University degree in Law.
• Solid experience in regulatory law, preferably within payments, e‑money or banking.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a commercial, fast‑paced environment.
• Strong understanding of GDPR and data‑protection requirements.
