Legal Counsel – Transport & Logistics

About the role

The Legal Counsel will join Girteka Group’s Transport Legal Department, providing high‑quality legal services across Lithuania and the EU, with a focus on transport and logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor relevant legal acts, continuously summarise analyses and present findings to various departments.
• Conduct presentations, training sessions and provide legal consulting.
• Manage and coordinate cases related to illegal migrants.
• Administer company accreditations.
• Coordinate and manage Internal Market Information System (IMI) requests.
• Participate in customer audits according to competence.
• Identify, assess and manage legal risks and compliance matters.
• Prepare and evaluate activity‑related documents, take part in negotiations and represent the company’s position.
• Initiate process improvements to meet business needs.
• Take responsibility for assigned legal matters in the jurisdictions where Girteka operates.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional experience in a law firm or as an in‑house counsel.
• University degree in law.
• Very good command of English and Lithuanian, both written and spoken; knowledge of Russian is a plus.
• Business‑minded, result‑oriented and proactive with a practical problem‑solving approach.
• Strong analytical, argumentation and negotiation abilities.
• Motivation to keep learning, improving and taking on new responsibilities.
• Positive, solution‑oriented mindset focusing on "how" rather than "no".
• Experience in migration law, legal status of foreign nationals and employment law in Lithuania or abroad.
• Familiarity with international transport, logistics, compliance or legal risk management.
