Account Manager – Spot Freight

About the role

As an Account Manager – Spot Freight you will be the main point of contact for spot market customers, turning ad‑hoc freight opportunities into profitable shipments. You will work in a fast‑paced logistics environment, leveraging digital freight exchanges to meet revenue and performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing spot market customers.
• Source and secure shipments using platforms such as Timocom, Transporeon, Alpega and other digital marketplaces.
• Negotiate spot freight rates with customers and carriers to maximise profitability.
• Monitor market trends, pricing and capacity to adjust commercial strategies.
• Analyse shipment performance and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with pricing, planning and operations teams to deliver optimal customer solutions.

Required profile

• Experience in sales, account management, logistics or freight forwarding.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with a commercial mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, data‑driven environment.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented and customer‑focused attitude.
