Head of Accounting (Remote)

About the role

IMPACT BRANDS, a health and wellness company with 7+ brands, is looking for an experienced Head of Accounting to lead its accounting operations across e-commerce and manufacturing divisions. The position is fully remote and covers core accounting processes such as month-end close, annual financial statements, AR/AP, vendor and payment management, invoice approval, internal controls and fraud prevention. It calls for IFRS or U.S. GAAP expertise and the ability to design scalable financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations across a group of e-commerce companies and a separate manufacturing entity.
• Design and implement processes for AR, AP, payments, vendor management, invoice approval and fraud prevention.
• Develop accounting policies and internal control procedures in line with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing, financial statement accuracy and internal/external audits.
• Evaluate and implement accounting systems, tools and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead, train and support the accounting team, and collaborate with finance, operations and management on timely financial reporting.
• Monitor cash flow, reconcile accounts and act as contact for banks, auditors and other external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 8+ years of accounting leadership experience, ideally across e-commerce and manufacturing.
• Proven experience with IFRS or U.S. GAAP and strong knowledge of AR/AP, payments, vendor management and audit procedures.
• Experience designing accounting policies, controls and process improvements, and a record of preventing and managing financial fraud or vendor scams.
• Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills, highly organized and detail-oriented.
