Head of Networks (F/M/D)

About the role

Ignitis Group's shared services centre, part of a renewables-focused integrated utility, is looking for a Head of Networks to lead its network engineering teams. You will drive the modernization, security and automation of large-scale, business-critical network infrastructure connecting data centres, offices, power plants and substations across Lithuania.

Key responsibilities

• Lead about 30 network engineers across Lithuania through team leads, building a culture of ownership, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Own the reliability, performance and security of corporate data networks (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, radio links, firewalls, cloud connectivity).
• Own and deliver the network roadmap: simplify and standardise the estate and retire legacy technology.
• Ensure networks are secure by design, compliant with cybersecurity and regulatory requirements, with segmentation, controlled access, governed firewall policy and fast incident recovery.
• Drive automation and network-as-code practices to reduce manual work and improve change quality.
• Manage vendors, contracts and the team's budget with a focus on cost efficiency.

Required profile

• 8+ years in enterprise networking, including 2+ years leading a network engineering team, ready to step up to leading through team leads.
• Fluent Lithuanian and English.
• Experience modernising networks through standardisation, automation and network-as-code (e.g. Ansible, Python, Terraform).
• Experience working with vendors; budget ownership is a plus.

Required skills

• Enterprise and WAN networking: routing and switching, firewalls, Wi-Fi and data centre networks across a multi-site estate.
• High availability networks with incident, problem and change management.
• Network security: segmentation, access control and firewall policy in a regulated environment.
• Cloud networking and hybrid connectivity.
