Senior Scientist – Formulation & Nucleic Acid Delivery

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead formulation and nucleic acid delivery development at its Vilnius site. You will work on lipid‑ and nanoparticle‑based delivery platforms, moving concepts from early research through technology transfer and scale‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize and characterize formulations for nucleic acid delivery systems.
• Partner with R&D scientists to translate novel delivery concepts into robust, scalable formulations.
• Execute studies evaluating particle size, encapsulation efficiency, stability, physicochemical properties and in‑vitro performance.
• Optimize formulation composition and manufacturing parameters for reproducibility and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with biology teams to link formulation attributes with functional performance and support lead candidate selection.
• Work with analytical scientists to establish characterization strategies and support method development, qualification and validation.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent experience in formulation science, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with lipid‑based and nanoparticle delivery systems.
• Proven ability to generate high‑quality scientific data and solve complex formulation problems.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for cross‑functional projects.
