Software Engineer – Backend Java (Vilnius)

About the role

As a Software Engineer reporting to the Senior Director, you will help design, develop, and maintain backend services that power Nasdaq’s technology platforms and client‑facing systems. The role is ideal for a solutions‑oriented professional who enjoys cross‑team collaboration in a fast‑paced, global environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based backend services.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, QA, and product teams throughout the full development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support integration and platform initiatives across multiple systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development and test environments.
• Contribute to deployment and runtime activities in cloud‑based, containerized environments such as Kubernetes.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of software development experience (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong foundation in Java or a comparable object‑oriented language.
• Proficiency with Git in a collaborative setting.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication within an international team.
• Curious mindset with a willingness to learn and adopt AI‑assisted development tools.
