Software Engineer - Full Stack and Data (React / Python)

About the role

Moody's is looking for a Software Engineer who will combine full‑stack development with data‑focused engineering. You will work on user‑facing web applications built with React and backend services powered by Python, while gaining exposure to big‑data technologies and AI‑enabled workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain React‑based user interfaces for enterprise applications.
• Build and extend Python backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django, and create RESTful APIs.
• Write and optimise SQL queries, joins and aggregations against relational databases.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to investigate application and data issues and deliver effective solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation and Agile ceremonies.
• Follow a mentored learning path to acquire PySpark and data‑engineering skills.
• Apply artificial‑intelligence concepts and tools to improve workflows and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience building web applications with React.
• Professional experience developing backend services in Python, preferably with FastAPI, Flask or Django.
• Strong command of SQL for querying relational databases.
• Willingness to learn PySpark and data‑engineering practices.
• Analytical mindset, strong problem‑solving abilities and clear communication.
• Curiosity about AI technologies and a commitment to responsible AI use.
