About the role
The State Accreditation Service for Health Care Activities, operating under the Ministry of Health, is looking for a Legal/Regulation Specialist to support the safety and compliance of medical devices in Lithuania. The role involves drafting legislation, monitoring the market, and representing the agency at national and international forums.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and evaluate drafts of Lithuanian and EU legislation related to medical devices and conformity assessment.
- Provide proposals for the implementation and practical application of legal acts.
- Participate in medical device market surveillance activities.
- Draft inspection reports, official letters, decisions and other regulatory documents.
- Initiate and manage administrative offence procedures, conduct investigations and write protocols.
- Maintain registers and information systems linked to regulatory functions.
- Develop and coordinate Lithuania’s positions on medical‑device matters.
- Prepare materials for working groups, committees and meetings.
- Represent the agency and Lithuania’s stance at national and international meetings.
- Engage in commissions, working groups and related deliberations.
Required profile
- University degree in law, bio‑engineering or life sciences (bachelor’s or equivalent) or a higher college degree with a professional bachelor’s qualification.
- Relevant work experience in health systems, medical devices, legislation, market surveillance or a related field.
- English language proficiency at minimum B2 level.
- Ability to analyse legislation, organise large volumes of information and draft well‑reasoned conclusions.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Capacity to work independently, plan tasks responsibly and cooperate with colleagues and external institutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, web browsers and document‑management systems.
