Application Support Specialist - Messaging & Integration

About the role

As an Application Support Specialist reporting to the Senior Director of Systems Operations, you will ensure the stability and continuous improvement of Nasdaq Nordic’s post‑trade platforms. You will work closely with technical owners and cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incidents end‑to‑end, including participation in on‑call rotations for major incidents and planned operational activities.
• Deploy releases and manage configuration and change activities across environments.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert for application behavior, integrations, and operational questions.
• Proactively monitor systems to identify and resolve issues before they impact production.
• Collaborate with technical owners and cross‑functional teams to meet service level agreements and support business initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in IT operations, application support, or a similar technical role.
• Hands‑on experience supporting enterprise messaging or middleware platforms.
• Proficiency working in Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with clear, professional communication in English.
• Ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, TIBCO EMS, ActiveMQ (or similar middleware).
• Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Scripting or programming (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Enterprise networking, virtualization, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with SWIFT Alliance, ITIL, or Agile certifications is a plus.
