Backend Engineer – Payments

About the role

Netzet is looking for a Backend Engineer to own and evolve its Payments department. You will work on a fast‑growing, AI‑enhanced development environment, building core payment infrastructure that powers multiple digital products across many markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain payment gateway integrations (Stripe, Payabl, Adyen) and related subscription, invoicing, and refund logic.
• Translate business and revenue‑critical flows into scalable backend services.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development while focusing on architecture and problem‑solving.
• Build and sustain a modular backend architecture that serves various digital ventures.
• Create shared tools and APIs for authentication, analytics, billing, email, and CRM integrations.
• Manage infrastructure, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure high availability of payment flows.

Required profile

• Mid‑level backend engineering experience with a strong focus on business impact.
• Hands‑on experience with payment integrations, subscription systems, and revenue‑critical processes.
• Comfortable using AI tools in daily coding workflow.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and scalable service design.
• Confidence working across SQL/NoSQL databases, server environments, and cloud infrastructure.
