Head of Engineering

About the role

An international developer and distributor of betting products, operating in the iGaming space with live and digital gaming experiences for B2B partners, is hiring a Head of Engineering in Vilnius. The role reports directly to the CTO and takes full ownership of execution and delivery across the engineering organization, scaling it in a real-time, high-availability product environment. You will lead engineering through Product Owners and Team Leads.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of the engineering roadmap, ensuring predictability and transparency
• Drive execution across multiple teams in a real-time, high-availability environment
• Lead and develop Product Owners and Team Leads
• Ensure realistic planning, including tech debt, bugs and incidents
• Manage cross-team dependencies and remove blockers
• Establish and run engineering operations (on-call, incident handling, planning discipline)
• Enforce engineering quality in line with architecture standards set by the Architects team
• Build a strong accountability culture with clear ownership

Required profile

• Proven track record of running engineering organizations with high delivery predictability
• Solid technical background (backend systems, APIs, distributed systems)
• Experience in high-availability, production-critical environments
• Strong people leadership experience managing managers
• Confident working with senior engineers and making hard decisions
• Excellent prioritization and decision-making under uncertainty
