Payroll Accountant

About the role

Eneba is looking for a Payroll Accountant for its Accounting team, which acts as a business partner to colleagues across the company. The role covers accurate and timely payroll processing for Lithuanian and foreign entities, in full compliance with local labour laws and tax regulations. The position is based in Kaunas.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage the full payroll cycle for Lithuanian and foreign entities, including salary calculations, overtime, bonuses, vacation pay and sick leave.
• Ensure payroll is accurate and on time, in line with Lithuanian labour law, tax regulations and company policy.
• Prepare and submit payroll tax declarations and reports to state authorities (VMI, SODRA), including GPM, VSD and PSD contributions.
• Maintain and reconcile payroll accounts, fix discrepancies and ensure correct general ledger entries.
• Administer timesheets, attendance records and employment documentation, and work with HR on onboarding/offboarding and contract changes.
• Support internal and external audits, monitor changes in labour and tax legislation, and cooperate with third-party payroll providers and tax consultants.
• Contribute to improving and automating payroll processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in payroll accounting or payroll administration.
• Solid knowledge of Lithuanian labour law, payroll taxation (GPM, VSD, PSD) and social security regulations.
• Experience with payroll reporting to VMI and SODRA.
• Fluent Lithuanian and proficient English (spoken and written).
• Degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field preferred.
• Nice to have: experience with multiple entities or international groups, and with payroll automation projects.

Required skills

• Payroll and/or ERP accounting software (e.g. Navision, SAP or similar)
• Microsoft Excel for payroll data analysis and reconciliation
• Attention to detail, confidentiality and strong organisation under tight monthly deadlines
• AI proficiency and experience implementing process-improvement tools
