Remote Data Team Lead

About the role

Impact Brands is seeking a Remote Data Team Lead to own and shape its end‑to‑end data architecture. You will drive the technical direction of data pipelines, lakes, and analytical models while leading a growing data team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain the full data stack, from raw ingestion to analytical reporting.
• Define company‑wide data models, schemas, semantic layers and metric definitions.
• Lead the migration from Dataform to dbt and expand the data lake.
• Set standards for data quality, governance, documentation and cost control.
• Act as the primary data liaison for Marketing, Finance, Operations and senior leadership.
• Present data insights and recommendations to the executive team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience leading data specialists and establishing technical standards.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable presenting to C‑level executives.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses, especially BigQuery on Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in dbt and Dataform with Git‑based workflows.
• Data modeling expertise, including dimensional modeling and semantic layers.
• Building data lakes or lakehouses and designing data pipelines.
