Senior Android Engineer – Kotlin & Jetpack Compose

About the role

Based in our Vilnius office, you will join a high‑impact product team working on Proton Drive and Proton VPN. As a senior Android engineer you will design and ship privacy‑first Android experiences using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and a shared Rust core.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design and engineering to define and deliver Android features from concept to production.
• Develop and maintain scalable, testable mobile architecture using modern Android practices.
• Ensure high performance, low memory usage and robust offline behavior.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise the technical bar across the team.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to integrate Rust‑based core logic via generic interfaces.

Required profile

• Extensive experience building and shipping Android applications with Kotlin.
• Strong proficiency with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development.
• Track record of end‑to‑end feature ownership and delivering high‑quality user experiences.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and contribute to product and technical discussions.
• Passion for privacy‑focused products is a strong plus.
