Senior Director of Engineering, Platform

About the role

Vinted is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead its newly created Platform organization. This senior leader will shape the end‑to‑end strategy, execution and impact of the Platform across the full technology stack, enabling product teams to deliver faster, safer and more consistent value.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the platform vision, roadmap and delivery across infrastructure, frameworks, architectural patterns and developer workflows.
• Lead a 180‑plus person internal product organization, collaborating with engineering leaders from Marketplace, Vinted Go and Payments.
• Provide opinionated “golden paths” and standardized architectures that align with business domains.
• Ensure platform coherence while supporting diverse business unit needs and scaling across 20+ markets.
• Drive cultural and operational shifts to adopt platform‑first thinking throughout the engineering organization.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large, complex engineering teams (hundreds of engineers) in a fast‑moving, consumer‑facing technology company.
• Strong track record of building and scaling platform services, infrastructure and developer tooling.
• Excellent ability to influence cross‑functional leaders and align technical strategy with business goals.
• Experience working in multi‑business‑unit environments and delivering cohesive, reusable platform solutions.
